This original model "Friends of the Farm" bookends was created by deborah higdon, a local LEGO™ artist and owner of "buildings blockd". made with LEGO™ bricks, these fully functioning bookends measure 14" x 6" x 6" together. This fully built model does not come with instructions, and because it is not glued, with some unattached, loose pieces, is not at all suitable for young children because of choking hazards. The model is fragile and requires special care in handling. Bricks are gently used from the artist's personal collection. Ms. Higdon is not in any way affiliated with the LEGO™ company.

J.R. Booth - The Life and Times of an Ottawa Lumberking, by John Ross Trinnell

John Rudolphus Booth was a Canadian lumber king and railroad baron. He controlled logging rights for large tracts of forest land in central Ontario, and built the Canada Atlantic Railway to extract his logs and to export lumber and grain to the United States and Europe. In 1892, his lumber mill was the largest operation of its kind in the world.

Always wanted to learn how to knit?  Well now you can! Jordan Craig discovered photography when a family friend, an accomplished photographer, offered to build a darkroom at his family's home. After an early career working in film in the United States, Jordan returned to Ottawa to concentrate on his photography. Well known for his Ottawa series of images, as well as portraits and still life, Jordan's works are represented in private collections at home and abroad.
